Frank Rhodes Budlong, president of the WilliamGreene Company, was born at Cranston, R. I., Jv22, 1889. He was the son of Robert and Edith M. (Merill) Budlong. His father was for many years ownof the S. K. Merrill Company, manufacturers of jeelry, but is now deceased and is survived by his wiwho still makes her home in this city. The scFrank Rhodes Budlong, received his early educatiiat the famous Mowry & Goff School, where he remain-for a number of years. After completing his prepartion for college, he matriculated at the Moses BrovSchool, where he took the usual classical course. I. BIOGRAPHICAL 369 then began his business career by entering the employof H. Nordlingers Sons, dealers in precious stones,where he remained from 1908 to 1910. From 1910 to1915 he was the New York office manager of the S. Company, of Providence. Mr. Budlong maderapid progress in business, and in 1915 formed thepresent partnership with Edgar M. Docherty. has identified himself with the social andfraternal life of the community, and is at the presenttime a member of Harmony Lodge, No. 9, AncientFree and Accepted Masons, and Providence Lodge,Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. FrankRhodes Budlong was united in marriage, June 2, 1910,at Providence, Rhode Island, with Ruth A. Peckham,a daughter of Thomas and Mary A. Peckham, of thatcity. They are the parents of two children, as fol-lows: Merrill Peckham, and Frank Rhodes, Jr. Edgar Milton Docherty, secretary and treasurer ofthe William C. Greene Compa
