They produce thousands of beautiful flowers in pure white, pink and crimson shades, furnishing an abundance of cut blooms for autumn decoration when other flowers are scarce. Should be sown iu Spring in the open ground, when danger of frost is past, or the seed may be started under cover and afterwards transplanted. Plant 18 to 24 inches apart in rows or in masses in beds. When the plants are about a foot high the tops should he pinched out to induce a bushy growth. They prefer a rather light, not too rich soil, but do well almost anywhere. Double Crested Cosmos We consider this one of the best flower novelties of recent years. The colors are similar to those of the old type and the habit of the plant is vigorous. They come into flower about the same time as the Giant flowering.
