Foreign Eagle Island Camp camp Orient Express , outside the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. Located in the Central Okavango Delta , Eagle Island Camp is a camp built on the water , with shops and thatched roofs , in one of the islands of the lagoon Xaxaba . Xaxaba literally means "island of tall trees ." The camp is a pleasant retreat from the African sun protected thanks to the shade provided by a canopy of native trees. It is one of the most pristine and natural sites in the delta, a region with a variety of channels and extensive wetlands. Animal and bird life of this region is abundant , and can be seen aboard species mekoros ( traditional dugout canoes ) , motor boats , cruisers and 14 seats at sunset Bell Jet Ranger helicopter (extra cost ) . For the more adventurous and eager to follow tracks and noises in the bushes explorers , the camp offers guided walks . Moreover, magnificent sunsets can be enjoyed -a rain - covered from the Fish Eagle Bar or from the elevated platform overlooking the lagoon. Eagle Island Camp offers day and evening activities for spotting animals . They do in motor or stealthy mekoros ( traditional canoe ) through the clear waters of the Okavango boats.
