Zealandia is a 500 acre plant and bird sanctuary in Wellington, New Zealand. It is completely fenced and predators are now excluded. The area centers on an old reservoir and is gradually being stocked with NZ's rarest flora and fauna. The 500-year mission is to restore the valley to the way it was before the arrival of humans. It is succeeding - birds once rare in Wellington are now a common sight around town.
