The large earthenware tiled blue & white image of the famous painting of the Nigh Watch by artist, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn inside the Royal Delft museum at the world’s famous Delftware factory in Delft, Holland How was this done ? The image was projected onto the tiles and two Delft painters drew the whole painting with charcoal onto the tiles (one painter started left and the other on the right. They both worked inwards towards each other to complete the image, Each tile was glazed and fired individually. The finished tiles were assembled to create the Night Watch.
