Military families in the Northwest region received a nice surprise when they were told their NEX layaways were being paid off. In all, 150 families had their layaway balances totaling nearly $48,000 paid in full by the non-profit organization Pay Away the Layaway, Inc. The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is comprised of 14,000 personnel worldwide facilitating six business lines, NEX retail stores, the Navy Lodge Program, Telecommunications Program, Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility, Ships Store Program and the Uniform Program Management Office.
