This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, artwork. This spacecraft, known as JUICE, will embark on a seven-year journey to Jupiter and its moons, Europa (right), Ganymede (foreground) and Callisto (upper right). The solar wings are the largest ever flown on an interplanetary mission. The size is essential to generate sufficient power for the instruments and spacecraft so far from the Sun. The spacecraft is furnished with a laboratory of instruments that will investigate Jupiter's turbulent atmosphere and vast magnetosphere, as well as study the planet-sized moons Ganymede, Europa and Callisto. JUICE is scheduled for launch in 2022.
