Skuldelev 3 Viking Ship Museum Roskilde Denmark Duilt in Denmark Skuldelev 3 is a small elegant trading and transport vessel possibly of the type known as byrding It may have been used when a farmer and his men had to attend the council or go to market The ship was built of oak somewhere in Denmark and was well adapted for sailing in Danish coastal waters and the Baltic It had an open hold with room for about 4 tons of cargo The crew would have consisted of 5 6 men Roar Ege a econstruction of Skuldelev 3 has sailed at a top speed of 8 5 knots Roar Ege is on display at Museum Harbour Dates from ca about 75 percent preserved
