This technically demanding project for ITV News entailed the provision of a wide range of office and technical spaces across an otherwise uninterrupted floor plate of approximately 12,480 sqft. Comprising open plan newsroom offices and recording studios for recorded and live news bulletins, as well as associated production spaces, changing rooms and breakout areas, the scheme provides a clear organisational structure and a unifying architectural language to a complex range of spaces. The clients objective was to bring the production areas into direct contact with the newsroom increasing the interchange and dialogue between journalists, production staff and presenters without compromising on the acoustic integrity of control rooms and studios or production zone circulation.
