Lempertz auction house, Cologne, Germany.

Since the beginning of 2000, Kunsthaus Lempertz is the only German auction house to be part of the renowned International Auctioneers group (IA), a group that unites eight independent leading auction houses from eight countries. This allows for progressive internationalization and concentration of offer. This new partnership which is the 4th largest auction group in the world and can boast a turnover of more then US $ 400 million has given Lempertz significant impetus. In 2001 a joint-stock company was founded according to Swiss law: International Auctioneers with seat in Geneva. The president alters every year. This partnership of independent auctioneers can pride itself of having more than 350,000 clients, making it probably the largest clientele in the art market worldwide. IA holds over 800 auctions per year, and concentrates the knowledge and experience of more then 200 experts. Twice per year in spring and autumn the group publishes the IA magazine with copies worldwide.
