Dental inlay preparation. (Image 1 of 3). Computer graphic of a tooth with a cavity cut into it in preparation for a dental inlay. The graphic is from an oral camera used to determine the exact dimensions of the cavity. This data is then fed into a miniature milling machine which cuts a perfectly fitting inlay from a ceramic block. Inlays are used to replace badly decayed areas of tooth. To view the dental inlay being cut see image M782/146, while to view a magnified image of the finished inlay see image M782/147.
