German graves at the WWi CWGC Hautrage Military Cemetery in the province of Hainaut the majority of casualties being from the Battle of Mons in 1915


The CWGC WWI Hautrage Military Cemetery near Mons in Belgium. The cemetery has 773 burials, 537 of those being German, many of both sides are unknown. Most of the deaths are from the Battle of Mons in 1915 when the British got slaughtered. Interestingly the German soldiers face each other across the no-mans land in front of the Cross of Sacrifice.
