Koses are more plentiful and the qual- ity has improved. The demand for these has been unusually heavy for summer time. The price has ranged from $4 to $12 per hundred, with Columbia pre- dominating. Carnations have exhausted them- selves, and will be out of the market for a few weeks until the appearance of the new ones. Lilies are prominent. Lilium rubrum and L. album are overplentiful and are being sacrificed. These, however, are short-stemmed. Lilium auratum is fairly plentiful at $25 per hundred. Easter lilies are scarce at $20 per hun- dred. Gladioli are numerous, at from $2 to $6 per hundred. Asters are beginning to appear at $2 to $4 per hundred. No fancy ones are to be had. A few lilies of the valley at $6 per hundred are to be had. Orchids are scarce. Outdoor stock is in only fair supply. Buddleia, delphinium and statice are popular. Other offerings are gaillardias, daisies, snapdrag«ns and blue lace flowers. Green goods are especially good. Fancy ferns arc priced at $ per thousand and Asparagus plumosus at 30 cents per bunch. Various Notes. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Carlstedt and Al- bert Fox have just returned from a 3,000nnle motor trip through the east. They visited Cleveland, Buffalo and Utica, N. Y.; Springfield, Mass.; Boston, Mass.; New London, Conn.; Ncav York city and various other places of interest. The Indiana State Florists' Associa- tion will hold its annual picnic at Broad Ripple park August 9. This will be an all-day picnic, beginning at 10 a. m.
