Business has bo«n unusually good since Easter, and, as the porch box and bedding plant season is at its height, everyone is likely to be kept on the jump for the next three or four weeks. Koscs are arriving in large quantities now and the quality is fine. Carnations are beginning to show the effect of the good, warm weather. Your reporter returned home the day before Easter from a ten days' trip, visiting the great cut flower centers of the east; namely, Washington, Phila- del])liia, New York and Cincinnati. It was esjjecially pleasing to note that the Nashville public had as good stock, botli in quality and assortment, as was offered in the cities mentioned above. Roses are beginning to bloom in the open and lilacs are a thing of the past. The iris is already making a wonderful showing here, for Nashville is decidedly an iris city. There are probably more members of the National Iris Society living in Nashville than in any other city of its size, and there is a large local iris society.
