Near to the spot where the moulds were discovered therestood till recently a large sepulchral cairn ; and in forming a roadthrough the moss several cists were exposed containing human bonesand cinerary unis. Amid these evidences of ancient population thetwo pairs of moulds were discovered, at a depth of only sixteen inchesfrom the surface.
