Histology staining apparatus. Woman holding a bottle of a solution used to stain tissue samples for viewing under a microscope. The bottles are mounted on the machine that is used to stain the samples. Different solutions stain different features. For example, haematoxylin stains cell nuclei blue/black, whereas eosin stains cell cytoplasm and connective tissue fibres pink, orange and red. Therefore, each sample may be stained with a number of different solutions to show up the different areas.
