Fruit-tree root weevil, also known as apple root borer, is a native insect found in temperate parts of New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. Its native hosts are various species of eucalypts and wattles, but as soon as cultivated fruit trees were introduced to Australia it developed a taste for them.
