Timothy Hale, New Mexico Department of Veterans Services cabinet secretary, gives a speech during the Prisoner of War and Missing in Action recognition ceremony held at the Holloman Air Force Base, , Heritage Park, Sept. 21. Hale, a retired Air Force Colonel, told many stories of New Mexico POWs and how their stories of perseverance continually motivate him. The ceremony paid tribute to those individuals who ˜gave all and those who were held captive while serving their country. During the event there was a "Roll Call of Honor," which showed respect to the 12 POW/MIAs from New Mexico.
