Westbury white horse, (processed as an hdr image).
According to legend it was King Alfred who cut the first white horse at Westbury to celebrate his victory over the Danes at the nearby battle of Ethandun in 878AD. All evidence was lost in 1778 when a new horse was cut over the old one. The present horse is overlaid with concrete due to the steep slope of the hillside. The site is popular with para-gliding and hang-gliding enthusiasts.
