London, UK. 2nd May 2017. Paula Peters of Disabled People against Cuts (DPAC) speaks to bring the protest blocking Victoria St on the last sitting day before the General Election to an end. Ther protesters called on people to vote the Tories out of office for their hate crimes against the disabled. The disabled were singled out by the Tories who thought slashing their benefits an easy target for cuts, paying ruthless companies to administer flawed tests of disability and axing funds which enabled them to live independent and productive lives, ignoring court decisions and a UN report condemning their abuse of disability rights. Official statistics show many thousands of early deaths of disabled people affected by these Tory cuts. Peter Marshall/Alamy Live News
