Egypt, Aswan. In 1972 the Russians presented a memorial monument to remember the cooperation of Russia and Egypt when building the Aswan new Aswan dam, or High Dam, built in the 1960's by the Egyptians and Russians after the USA and Great Britain had left the project because of the Israel politics from Egypt. The artificial lake that was created was named after the president at that time that also started the building, Nasser.
