This thirty-foot tall replica of an Apollo lunar lander graces the front of the Mississippi Welcome Center on Interstate 10 in Pearlington, Mississippi, just east of the Louisiana state line. The site is adjacent to the NASA Stennis Space Center, where the Apollo 13 astronauts trained in this module. In the concrete at the base of the exhibit is a pair of space boot footprints left by Apollo 13 crew member and Mississippi native Fred Haise.
