He lived in F~arming-ton until about 1716, when he removed to Kensing-ton, where he died ( )ct. 14. 1748. He was a son ofSamuel Cowles, who was born in 1639, and was mar-ried Feb. 14, 1660, to Abigail, daughter of TimothyStanley, of Hartford. They made their home inFarmington, and he was one of the eighty-four pro-prietors of that town in \~2. He died April 17,[691.
