He accordinglytook passage from Alexandria to Joppa, and passedthrough Jerusalem on to Beyroot. He arrived thereApril 4, and two days afterward suddenly fell into thehands of death through disease of the heart, expiring inthe arms of Rev. Henry Bannister, D. D., whom he hadprovidentially met at Jerusalem, and who became hiscompanion to Beyroot.
