China: Empress Xiao Yi Zhuang (-1558), consort of the 13th Ming Emperor Longqing (r. 1567-1572). Hanging scroll painting, 16th-17th century. Empress Xiaoyizhuang was the first consort of the Longqing Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. She married the emperor in 1553 and bore him three children but died in 1558.
