A peculiar feature of their business is thatthey take bicycles, guns and type-writers in ex-change and guarantee their customers the low-est price on any new bicycle. We copy the following from the Dayton Boardof Trade Journal: The bicycle house of A. & Co. presents an unpretentious front onSecond Street, but the ramifications rearwardand upward are quite extensive. A three-story. building, 200 feet deep, ib uevoted primarily tobicycles and incidentally to guns, boats andother sporting goods. Back of the store-room,on the first floor, are two commodious offices,and here the clerks, stenographers and type-writers indicate an extensive business and anextended correspondence. Beyond the office aten-horse power Otto gas engine furnishespower for the machine shop, where expertmechanics with special tools are ready to doanything for a bicyle that can be done—turningout the old machine as good as new. Making a specialty of difficult repairing, thefirm is naturally familiar with all the wheels onthe market, and their house has grown to be agreat wheel exchange, familiar as a householdword to riders of the steel steed all over thecountry. They carry over 500 wheels, new and old, thelargest stock in the United States outside of themanufacturers warehouses, and the descriptivelist of second-hand wheels they publish occasion-ally, in addition to the standard catalogues,s
