At the invitation of the offices of Senators Cory Booker and Bob Menendez, the Soldiers were given a tour of the Capitol Building. Approximately 100 New Jersey service members were activated to assist the District of Columbia National Guard supporting Metro Police and Capitol Police with traffic control in anticipation of First Amendment demonstrations in the Capitol Region.
