He was born in Preble County, Ohio,March 16, 1840. He was only six 3ears old whenhis parents brought him to Illinois. They locatedamong the pioneers of Jersey County, where helived until he was twenty-eight years old. In the jear 1868 our subject took up his resi-dence in Auburn Township, this county, and ever.
