Blue sky view, to green Lodgepole Pines, steam rising Rocket and Grotto Geysers, Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Hotspot, USA

Grotto Geyser was so-named by the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition in 1870 because its 3m sinter cone is full of large apertures, having been built up over dead tree stumps. It erupts every 8 hours, each eruption lasting 1-10 minutes.
