Key West, Key West Museum of Art and History

Key West has a charm that has attracted many people. Part of that charm is the climate which is characterized as tropical savanna climate with only a small difference in monthly mean temperatures. According to the National Weather Service, the Florida Keys have never recorded a frost or freeze. Additionally, the heat of the summer is mitigated by the easterly tradewinds. The wet season falls in the May to October part of the year with the dry season occurring from November to April. While we are on the topic of art, I noticed (it was hard to ignore) these huge figures, greatly resembling the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. They stood outside the Key West Museum of Art and History in the Custom House. Further research credits these statues to J. Steward Johnson — the artist called them "God Bless America". I wish I had more time to visit the museum — it sounds like there are more interesting items to investigate there. Maybe next visit.
