The farmers were expectedto grow more corn, and yet they were allowing thearable land to go down to grass again. Mr. Baldwin : No personmay brew beer without a hcence; but where anoccupier of a house of an annual value of £8 orless desires to brew a quantity not exceeding twolushels of malt, or the equivalent thereof, for hisown use in the course of his employment on harvest,he may between April 30 and August 31 in any yearobtain without payment of duty a licence authoris-ing him so to brew.
