Marines of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, stand in formation prior to the motivation run at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug. 18. After the Marines graduate recruit training, they receive 10 days of leave before reporting to the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to Aug. 19.
