Hind wing with orange patch in base of cell; patches below the cell and on inner area which are usually white, but sometimes partly orange ; a large orange patch beyond the cell between veins 2 and 7. 5 without white on coxtic. Larva reddish ochreous, with long paired black dorsal tufts on 2nd and 3rd somites; a lateral series of tubercles bearing black hairs; somites 4-11 with dorsal ridges of black and blue hair extending to above lateral tubercles; the last two somites with dorsal setiferous tubercles.
