His latest important work was the con-struction of the New York subway, which was completed in Oc-tober, 1904. He worked up through various positions in theoperatiru- department and in April. 1S93. resigned as division su-perintendent. He was subsequent! i nf the Chicago &South Side Rapid Transit Railroad, now the South Side ElevatedRailway, and was later made general manager, which position hehas held to date. Mr. Edward Tayson Bryan, who has been elected presidentof the Interborough Rapid Transit Company, of New York washorn at Windsor, O., on July 2. 1860.
