September 2020 -Building extensions being constructed at Wyreside Hall, Dolphinholme, original house was sold by John Fenton Cawthorn's trustees in 1836 to Robert Garnett (1780-1852). In 1843-44 the house was remodelled by Garnett to designs by Edmund Sharpe (1809-77), including the demolition of Adams west front. At the same time, the interior was completely changed and redecorated. Other alteratyions took place and the house was sold in 1936 and divided into apartments. In 2012 it was converted into a hotel.
