If the af-fected area is small, and it is desired to remove it with the leastamount of scarring, the brush-discharge will effectually re-move the trouble. In the picture shown in Fig. 13 the pa-tient was treated on alternate days for six weeks with thebrush-discharge with the result of absolutely relieving thetrouble, as is shown in Fig. 14. In this case the skin is per-fectly normal, and absolutely no scar remains over the regionaffected. The scar just beneath resulted from curettement, 274 STATIC ELECTRICITY. and the employment of carbolic acid in a former treatment ofthe case. This same patient was treated on alternate daysfor the affection, as shown in Fig. 15, with the brush-dis-charge. The treatment was persisted in for five months witha marked improvement in all respects, except that the lobe of
