It is understood that Sims Bros., of Little Current, Ont., have purchased the Lippincott timber limit for a sum in the neighborhood of $100,000. According to report, they intend taking out a large quantity of logs this winter. The German ship Admiral Tegghoff sailed from Chemainus, B. C, last week, for Antofogasta, with 720,000 feet ot lumber. The barque Louisiana sailed from the Hastings mill, Vancouver, for Melbourne, Australia, with 1,100,000 feet of lumber. The Beck Manufacturing Company, of Penetanguishene, Ont., had a raft ot about 80,000 logs tied up on the opposite side of the bay from Penetang. A boom chain broke and the logs went adrift. Most of them have been recovered, but at considerable expense. The Georgian Bay Lumber Company, of Waubausnene, encountered a similar loss by the recent severe storm of two weeks ago, which caused the logs to jump over the boom. It is said that 72,000 pieces went adrift.
