A new four-floor building is nearly completed and still has some of the bamboo scaffolding erected

Scaffolding is a temporary framework used to support people and material in the construction or repair of buildings and other large structures. It is usually a modular system of metal pipes (termed tubes in Britain), although it can be made out of other materials. Bamboo is still used frequently in Asia. The art of using bamboo to construct scaffoldings has been around for a long time. Even nowadays, you can routinely see bamboo scaffoldings. It is interesting to watch the workers build one, and it is even more fun to watch them disassemble one especially if it shrouds the whole building because they would pass each bamboo stick down by relay, sometimes letting it free fall for the next guy below to catch.
