Abraham Minies has been the barman in the Laird Arms Bar of the Lord Milner Hotel for 19 years. The railway station at Madjiesfontein in the Central Karoo, together with the Lord Milner Hotel, is an historic outpost of the Anglo-Boer war and a popular stop-over for tourists ( both rail & road )who travel between Cape Town and the north.
