There was a big demand for cut flowers of all kinds and for carna- tions especially. Carnations were not so plentiful as last year and the supply did not meet the demand. Many plants were sold when the cut flower supply was exliausted. Various Notes, J. C. Elspermann could not supply the demand for cut flowers at his store. The same condition obtained at the store of Julius Niednagel & Sons. The Wm. Blackman Floral Co. had good cuts of roses and carnations, but could not fill all the orders received. Karl Zeidler had an abundance of carnations and roses, which sold well. He has added another light delivery car to his equipment, now having three in service. Theodore Kuebler sold a large quan- tity of flowers at the market. Otto Kuebler reports a large sale of flowers and plants at Brege 's store. E. L. F. NEWPORT, K. I. WESTERLY, R. I. Louis J. Koutor, of S. J. Renter & Son, Inc., last week was elected cap- tain of the Xarrafjaiisott Gun Club. Carmieliacl Bros., of Hhannock, liave more than doubled last year's acreage of peonies and gladioli. George Ij.
