Br., 1867- 70, pt. i. p. 138) records the occurrence in the country round NuwaraEliya of a Flycatcher which he calls Leucoeerca fuscoventris, characters he gives of the species are evidently taken from adescription of L. pectoralis, Jerdon ; and from what I know of thecircumstances I believe 1 am quite justified in saying that Mr. Nevillnever saw the Nuwara-Eliya bird except alive in the jungle. It is not unlikely, however, that a Leucoeerca, probably L. pecto-ralis, may be found on the Nuwara-Eliya hills, although it has notyet been clearly identified. 120.
