Heated air is driven from the generator, D, into the chamber, A, containing the wood, thevapor escaping from the upper the wood is dry, tar is intro-duced into the generator, and theresulting fumes similarly forced intothe chamber impregnate the wood. B is a water box made hot fromthe furnace, E, which in turn keepsthe tar fluid in the tank C.
