Paediatric sleep study. Teenage boy with narcolepsy being prepared for a sleep study (Polysomnography, PSG). Electrodes are placed on his head to measure brain activity, eye and facial movement during the day and whilst asleep. Narcolepsy is a chronic sleep disorder (dyssomnia), characterised by excessive sleepiness and falling asleep at inappropriate times.
