The next day as we lay idly on the deck of the steamboat,crossing the Chea])eake Bay, Blain unbuckled an old army spurfrom his heel and turning to me said, Say, Milner, do you wantthis spur to remember the old mule by? Golly, that was a goodwatermelon! We call him Old Blain now.
