Cocoa mort bleu butterfly (Caligo teucer). This is one of the 'owl' species of butterfly, which are known for their large owl-like eyespots on the undersides of their hind wings. The eyespots are believed to confuse potential predators. It is native to Central America and feeds on the juices of rotting bananas and other fruit.
