Jean-Andoche Junot, 1st Duke of Abrantès (1771 – 1813) General Junot served during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He was made Governor of Portugal, but when a British expeditionary force landed, Junot was beaten at the Battle of Vimeiro on 21 August 1808.
