In the surf a man on horseback pulls three people on a rope towards the beach where people stand watching. Right, drowners clutch on wreck wood. Behind the beach, buildings and a fort is visible with the table mountain behind it. Ship disaster with the young Thomas in the table bay at the Cape Good hope, June 1, 1773. Of the 191 persons, 53 the ship disaster survive, 14 of which are saved by Wolrad Woltemade.
