Tower Bridge as seen from The Tower of London
Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London. Construction took place between 1886 and 1894. Horace Jones designed the bridge and John Wolfe Barry was the chief engineer. The bridge crosses the River Thames fairly close to the Tower of London. The bridge is 240 m in length and consists of two 65 m tall bridge towers. The bridge has two bascules that can open to allow shipping through. Seen here from The Tower of London.
