Grand Rapids, Michigan - The annual ArtPrize competition features more than a thousand works of art at nearly 200 venues across the city. "Oil+Water" is a photograph colored to look like an oil slick in the Grand River. The photograph was taken by Ryan Spencer Reed during the Dakota Access Pipeline protest on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in 2016. Reed is shown cleaning the river's dirt from the installation.
