The Utah National Guard was activated to assist firefighting efforts on the Box Canyon Fire burning approximately 12 miles east of Oakley, Utah, Aug. 28. Utah’s 2nd Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment, 97th Aviation Troop Command, provided two Black Hawk helicopters, each with two pilots and a crew chief, to help suppress the fire with water from the air.
